Dash lights up goes out when u turn key to start. The most common failure is the crankshaft position sensor. Silverado turns over like it wants to start, so i checked for spark, but there is none.

Freightliner cranks but won’t start. Something had to of happen when it sat for a week or something. I did a little research on this p0017 code and my haynes book is showing a crankshaft sensor code, if you have replaced the cam sensor and the truck will not start, you may have a bad crankshaft sensor, if you have a volt meter, you can back probe the connector, or unplug it and have somebody turn the key over and check for voltage at the plug just trying to.

Unplug the sensor and see if it starts. However, once i tried starting it back up without success, the code switched to the camshaft position sensor. I would do a compression test also to see if there is low compression.
